Bluebells
A carpet of bluebells under a tree canopy is a great woodland spectacle, making the bluebell one of the best-loved wild flowers. However bluebells are widely planted in gardens for their spring displays. These were spotted on a naturalised embankment in a wooded garden of a mansion house in Glasgow's leafy West End as I trundled up Peel Street towards Hyndland Station. I liked the composition with the rocks and the touch of the bright rose-red flowers of red campion on the right. They usually come into flower just as the bluebells are on the way out. Lovely to see them both in their prime.
