Ironic

It occurred to me today as I was paying out water bill at the offices in town that it was ironic that the utility charged with supplying water to everyone in town had a dry, non-working fountain. In fact, in all my monthly visits to this office, I had never once seen the fountain in operation. It could be a water conservation measure or it could be the price of electricity is too high, but I suspect it simply does not work like so many other fountains here in Mexico (we recently paid money to enter a well known garden in Cuernavaca and it was full of non-working fountains even though it was a weekend with lots of tourists in town).
