Lennox Author Award

Today was an important in my work calendar - Lennox Author Award, East Lothian's very own author award, which I've organised every year since its creation in 2010. Each year the shortlisted authors are invited and the participating schools each champion an author by any creative means of their choice - drama, animation whatever! Then the pupils lead a Q&A sessions for the authors. It is usually such a good ceremony! The children rise to the occasion and are fantastic and it is very ego boosting for the authors who see their work being appreciated and helping children to learn. It is definitely worth all the hard work! On the photo are authors Marcia Williams who won the award and Paul Dowswell, the child who won the review competition which runs alongside the award and the Councillor who presented the award, and of of course, Lennox the Library Lion - our mascot!
