Teazle Wood

Teazle Wood in Leatherhead has recently been saved by local people from developers who wanted to build on it. I am not surprised they fought a long campaign for it, it is beautiful. The first part we walked through was thick with bluebells, they went on and on. Then, all of a sudden, we were immersed in wild garlic! It doesn't have nearly such a nice smell but it is very pretty.

The walk came at the end of an outing with the WI Camera Group. We had visited the fantastic Fire And Iron Gallery, a wrought iron workshop and gift shop where they sell huge garden ornaments and sculptures. I shall have to go back for more photos of the sculptures when they are not competing with the beautiful woodland.
