Spring Onions

This afternoon I decided it was time to get down and get dirty to get my maymacromayhem blip for the day.  Nevermore had told me I need to get a mat so that I can lie on the ground to take my macro shots.  A great idea really and beats the knee pads.  I did fudge a bit because I lay on top of the lucerne mulch!!  Only downside was it has just taken me half an hour to remove the straw from my polar fleece track pants :-(

Now there's a great story behind this bunch of spring onions.  Way back in 2003, 12 years ago, CCN's Mum and Dad visited the Blue Mountains and Doug brought with him some spring onions from his garden.  I planted a few in my veggie patch and without a word of a lie the same bunch of spring onions are still going strong.  They are the most resilient veggie I know.  I've just put a link to the definition of resilient in the dictionary for your information fellow blippers :-))  Sums up my little spring onion patch to a tee.

I had a good chat to this week's Guest Judge - Jen (Newcastle Downunder) and warned her that she had better put aside half a day to go through this weeks entry in the challenge.

At last count we have had over 100 blippers contribute so far and well over 300 images posted.  Fortunately for both myself and the guest judges, the images appear date order so it is quite easy to go back and see where the weeks images commence.  We will definitely make sure we give our blippers on the other side of the world plenty of time to post their image for the 14th (last day this week) and will be posting our results late Saturday afternoon.

PS - I've been so happy to see my blip buddy Jolang join in the challenge this week.  I did have a good laugh today when Jolang emailed me to tell me she had mistyped the tag and put maymacromadness  - I can assure you Jolang under the circumstances and with the rate the images are being posted that would probably have been a very appropriate tag my friend :-))
