Bus Challenge No 58!!

"Westwood Manor is a 15th-century manor house with 16th-century additions and 17th-century plasterwork situated near Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire. It is the former home of Edgar Lister, a diplomat at the Ottoman court in the early years of the 20th century. The home contains fine furniture, musical instruments, and tapestries collected by Edgar Lister between 1911 and 1956, when he died in a car crash. He restored the house throughout and adorned the garden with topiary; he was also an expert in needlepoint and upholstered much of its furniture in Florentine work. Westwood Manor has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1956." A glorious day, so perfect weather to get out there on a Bus Challenge! A first bus took me into Bath, then a second bus (a tiny little bus run by Libra Travel, what a lovely name!) took me east into Wiltshire, along narrow country lanes and through picturesque villages to Westwood and Westwood Manor. The National Trust property didn't open until 2pm, so to pass the time I just had to pop in to the village pub and sample their cider in the sun! Well what else could you do on such a beautiful Spring day!!

Bus journey time = 2 hour 25 mins
Waiting time in between buses = 30 mins
Total journey time = 2 hours 55 mins
