Borde Hill Gardens

What a day to visit some gardens....quoted by Country Life as being one of the best in the country, we had arranged to visit Borde Hill near Haywards Heath this morning and despite the continuous rain and the 10C drop in temperature from yesterday, we decided to carry on regardless. They are currently holding a sculpture exhibition throughout the garden and I wished to see that, but the weather was so awful it was not pleasant and I think I will go back later this summer, when the roses will be in bloom.

Gavin leaves for Sydney again tomorrow, which is a pity as the school are holding a father and son cricket and tennis match day on Sunday, and he will be missing that so Thomas cannot participate.

I have also uploaded an image of the manor house at Borde Hill which is currently occupied by the family who own the estate. No wonder they open their garden to visitors, I would hate to pay for the maintenance on that property!
