As busy as....

About this time each year, school/work seems to take on a new dimension. Suddenly, everyone wants a piece of you. They are reports to be written, test papers to mark, parents' evenings (again) not to mention all the other hundreds of jobs that one would wish to complete in a normal day. So in an effort to be mindful, I took off my shoes and walked on the grass this evening. I listened to the bees buzzing on the echium, the birds sitting on the telephone wire and felt the warmth of the sun on my back. It all sounds rather cliched but it did seem to do the trick, at least for a few minutes.

Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.
