You are all stars.x
Awake early and kind of nervous and excited in a strange way. In school early after walking Sally then assessments with a few children then off to Deeside to the Flintshire Festival of Sport . Lunch then time for years 3 and 4 to perform, and they were amazing. Totally in time and in our eyes deserved to win.
Then it was a mad rush to get 17 children into paper boiler suits and taped up using insulation take to make them look like transformers. Good job April and her mum were there to help. Mr M would have had a few of the children bound like mummies!!!! ;)
Time for them to go on stage and they were so professional,as yet again they had to wait on stage for what seemed an age for the music to start.
Now i'm not just saying this....but they were out of this world. The staff and there coach April were blown away by their performance. The cheers and applause from the crowd was fantastic and their faces beamed as they came to us to see our response .
At the end of a great day we waited to see if we would be coming home with a trophy.
Sadly it was not to be, but well done to the children who did win.
But please tell me how do we explain to our children that it was a fair competition, when the winning schools were coached by a local dance group who just happened to be the panel of judges!!!!
Think its time to write a letter to the Head of Flintshire!!
Rant over and i would just like to thank our coach April who gives her time, expertise ,support and who fills the children with enthusiasm and self belief. You are a star April. Thank You.
Now time to pack for the weekend, trip to the zoo tomorrow and enjoy a glass of wine.
Next week we get back on track with Footloose , ready for Dancefest in June. Get those dancing shoes out Mr M!! X
