Sanquhar Knitting
Sarah and I have had this day in our diaries for some time - the first time in ages that we both had a free day to go to Sanquhar to see the new knitting workshop next to All The Airts, an art centre and cafe. As Matt was visiting and D is now a man of leisure (!), they both came along as well and we made a proper touristy day of it, going up to Wanlockhead as well to visit the Lead Mining Museum and then a wee walk in the Mennock Pass. I've said it before and I've said it again - this is a great place to be a tourist (especially if you can be home in time for tea).
This lady offered me a shot of her knitting machine but I got the white wool all snagged on the pins. She was quite good-natured about it as you can see. It takes only half an hour to knit a scarf on these machines, but the gloves are still made by hand.
