Shoulders of Giants

Tonight I rushed back from the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh to attend our first local SNP meeting since the General Election. A huge turnout welcomed our new MP, Kirsten Oswald who beat the Labour leader last Thursday.

I was delighted to get a picture of Kirsten with Stuart and Betty Farquharson who founded the Eastwood SNP branch. They have spent 50 years working for SNP victories in elections and finally in recent years have seen all their hard work come to fruition.

When we say that we stand on the shoulders of giants it is people like Stuart and Betty that we mean. They deserve the success we are now enjoying more than any of us.
