day lilies

thanks to all for taking the time to weigh in on the lily of the valley blips.  it seemed to me there were two camps.  those who liked the sculptural quality of the mono.  and those who liked the emotional connection with the color.  both resonate strongly with me.

but a third element in both photos tugged on me.  the left of the mono and the right of the color have just out of focus abstract forms.  as i looked at these two photos longer, i was drawn more to these areas than i was to the actual flower buds.

today i bypassed the focused subject and tried to capture just the abstract quality of the plant.  i post a more painterly photo on quietwork.  day lilies 2
