I Think These Are Goolie-Gullies...

When I was little, my uncle, Crispin's dad, used to tell me that there were beings that lived in the watermelon.  He called them Goolie-Gullies.  Before cutting up the watermelon, he felt it was essential to cut a square plug out of the melon's skin, not only to investigate whether they lived there, but to provided them with a means of escape before their home was cut up to be eaten.  Finally, after all these years, I firmly believe that I have now seen the Goolie-Gullies.  They were lying in a random pile on top of the lab counter when I was leaving work this evening.  Does anybody have a better  suggestion??!
