Happy Birthday Dawn!

And so it's that time of year again!

It's our birthday weekend. Today is Dawn's birthday, Monday it's mine!

Today was all about spoiling Dawn rotten. Monday we are off to Slimbridge or Llanelli Wetlands.

Rather randomly Dawn wanted to go to Ikea today. I haven't allowed her to back there since The Incident last year. Thankfully there was no re-occurance! There was hot dogs and ice cream, and there were several random items purchased as is always the case when you go to Ikea! This time it was a fluff remover thing, an orchid (and future inanimate object blip), a washing up brush with a sucker on it and a shoe rack.

From Ikea we went into town, I wanted to pick up an album from Spillers and we wanted to see the Chalkie Davies exhibition in the National Museum. RSPB Cymru were outside and we got some stunning views of the gorgeous female Peregrine sat on the nest on the clock tower.

The exhibition was excellent and well worth a visit if your in Cardiff between now and September. There is also an excellent pottery exhibition on called Fragile on in the hall opposite.

We had time for a quick beer in the sunshine before heading home to get ready for a meal in the Mouchak.

It was a friend of ours 50th Birthday too today .. so it was a proper family do, with seven of us booked in. The meal was excellent, we had a few glasses of bubbles beforehand, and Dawn and Russell got a random onion bhaji with a candle in it presented to them.

A fantastic day out with my wonderful wife and a whole weekend still to come!
