The Grand Tour

The sun is out and Portobello Road is heaving with tourists.

Between 1660 and 1840 young upper class European (mainly men) would embark on an educational tour around Europe. This is possibly the precursor to the 'Gap Year'.

These day's I meet young Asian people making the equivalent journey and definitely with the same style.
