By the Riverbank

I couldn't seem to get going this morning, but eventually got to the supermarket via a coffee shop around lunchtime, and managed the weekly shop in record time. I then headed over to Hawley Meadows with sandwiches and camera in hand.

The Blackwater River meanders through the meadows, and the damsel flies were just beginning to make their presence known.  I only saw one of these greeny bronze ones (Lestes sponsa), but the blue ones with a spot on their wings (Calopteryx splendens) was more plentiful and I managed to capture one in the extras, along with a mall butterfly or moth enjoying the blossom
