I liked the proximity of the merry-go-round and the Victorian bandstand in Houston Square on this fun day to mark the official opening of the new Johnstone Town Hall nearby in Ludovic Square (see extra). The people of Johnstone are  fortunate to still enjoy the pleasant open spaces in these two elegant central squares laid out to provide relief to the people in the overcrowded and squalid Industrial Revolution town
