Brilliant

Some days are just magic. Today was one of them.

One of my favourite operas, "La Traviata" was in final rehearsal today and I had picked up two tickets for £5 each. I met up with a friend in a sunny Covent Garden and the performance was wonderful.

Note this name : Marina Rebeka. She replaced the advertised and currently popular Sonia Yoncheva and she just sparkled.

She's beautiful.  She has great acting ability - and a voice that is pure and unforgettable. Another Latvian opera star in the making. She also started out in Riga at the National Opera.

We headed out at 2.30 to Holborn, aiming for a late late lunch at the lovely Italian restaurant I found a few weeks ago.  Firmly shut.

But it didn't matter. Just further down the road, in the unlikely named Red Lion Square, is a Korean restaurant, Kimchee. Delicious.  We'll be back.

Some days, when unexpected changes are made, just work out well.
