Unexpected Invite

I got a totally unexpected but much appreciated invite to an excellent day with renowned naturalist and ornithologist Eric Dempsey in Glendalough Valley as part of the Mountaineering Ireland Club Environmental Officers’ Workshop,
"The overall aim of the day is to raise awareness amongst Club Environmental Officers of Ireland’s wonderful upland birdlife and to brief participants on Mountaineering Ireland’s current work on access and conservation matters. The day will be based at Glendalough
PROGRAMME
Indoor Session (9.30 – 11.30am)

Overview of Mountaineering Ireland’s current work on access and conservation and discussion about the role of a Club Environmental Officer (Helen Lawless) followed by an introduction to the rich diversity of birdlife in the Wicklow Mountains (Eric Dempsey)."

Excellent day brilliantly finished on our way home by sighting the biggest wild herd of deer I have even seen in Wicklow with about fifty deer (and one goat!!) on the front lawn of Derrybawn House near Laragh......just saying
