a lucky shot...
(and another grasshopper in the extra picture)
These are the only things worthy to edit after 3 hours spent in the grass, and only to find 4 insects ... better said, I only took pictures of 4 insects...
I was lucky... macro is all about good light (than anything else). It's the light who makes de difference between a good shot and a not so good shot.
I was lucky to get good morning light filtered by the foliage and grass.
I was lucky with the flower and the colours of the background. That purple and green go really well together, with a cyan transition.
I was lucky with the stunning color of the eye. Orange and green are complementary colours in the color chart. The background enhances that beautiful eye.
Besides it is a very common subject (its just a plain common fruit fly) this is one my favourite pictures so far.. I was lucky.
PS.. I'm not photographing at midnight :) when I usually post, before going to bed.
My pictures are almost always from the day before. Usually I shoot at 6-7 PM (or at 8 -11 AM in the weekends) while walking the dogs, and I edit after dinner... and the edition takes me a good portion of time. Besides I have an edition routine, quite "well oiled" now, after so many shots, it always takes me like 30-40 minutes for every picture.
