Waiting for Midnight

Waiting for midnight outside the Moot Hall in Keswick at 11:59:59.  Yiannis on the right is about to start out on his attempt to be the oldest person to complete a Bob Graham round*.
This is a tough task for any fell runner and Yiannis is 70 years old.
You can see from the picture that it was already starting to rain and the winds on the tops were really strong and energy sapping.
Yiannis was forced to pack in his attempt on Yewbarrow fell shortly after leaving Wasdale at about 16:00 on Saturday.
The other people in the picture are his pacers who accompany him to confirm he visits all the tops and also carry his food and drink, there are 4 road crossings on the route where fresh pacers join him for the next leg.

*The Bob Graham round is a 66 mile route with 27,000ft of climbing over 42 Lakeland Tops.
Earlier in the day I took a run out to the Red Paper Bridge in Grizedale near Patterdale, you can see me standing on the bridge here on Flickr.
