Fabulous Day!
We embarked on a Ringing Tour today, unlike any I have been on before! We were invited by our neighbouring tower ringers at Ellesborough for a ringing tour by narrow boat.
After dropping Ted off with Mum at 8am we set off to Weedon, Northants, for our first ring of the day. Interestingly the Canal is elevated here so the Church was below the Canal. After ringing we were invited aboard the Laughing Cavalier for bacon rolls and tea and off we set to the next tower. We were blessed with excellent weather and the day progressed with ringing at 2 more towers before lunch, lunch on board and then ringing at two more towers. The last one was Stoke Bruerne which meant a trip through the 3 mile Blisworth Tunnel which was very exciting.
When we had finished at the last tower two of us were ferried back to the Weedon to collect cars and then all met in the The Boat PH at Stoke Bruerne for an evening meal.
I have been ringing for nearly 14 years now and have rung in many towers and been on many outings, today was one of the best and reminded me how lucky we are to have such a wide network of friends who are thoroughly decent and lovely people, feeling very blessed!
