Broad Beans #2
Mystified this morning by an overwhelming sweet smell which I eventually tracked down to the Broad Bean flowers. Bumble bees have been busy on the flowers for a few days but the perfume is maybe due to warm sunshine today, or that I wasn't rushing around.
There are only about a dozen bean plants and they were tiny on 29th April but have stood up to the assorted weather we've had and I may get some to eat in a few weeks time!
The thin leaves at the front are Salsify which I have never grown before so watching them closely.
I am a seedaholic and (another confession) have bought some broad beans with red flowers which I hope to plant tomorrow :-)
