If it wasn't for the condos in between

This is the view that we'd almost get, if we weren't on the 8th floor of Block B at HK that is.  We were next door at Verve Suites Block D, at the Sky Beach on the 35th floor.  Yes, sand and palms and a great view east.  You can see the twin Petronas Towers at KLCC and the older KL Tower (today was the KL Tower Challege, running up the steps to the top.)  In the mid right are the golden domes of the Astana Negara, the national Royal Palace, where the Agong, the elected king of kings spends time with his. much, younger wife.  Our young royals stayed there in 2012.  In front of that, but hidden, is the One Kiara mall and to the right of that a glimpse of Lebuhraya Sprint westward and the eastbound off ramp.

We were at Alexa's, daughter of a friend, first birthday party.  We had food and cake and a swim in the infinity pool. We still prefer HK though.  Bigger pool, though ground level and moe family orientated.  Verve Suites are small and geared to the 25 - 40 crowd.  Quite a few on AirBNB if you care to look.  This shows you how built up KL is and the amount of building.  One of the new condos in the front is being designed by Norman Foster.

On the way back we went to the new Jaya Grocer which has opened under the Verve Suites.  Less of a schelp in the heat for essentials.

In Olivia news, she has a tooth!  First one.  We had a relaxing afternoon, reading, sleeping ,watching 'Brave'.  Fang came for dinner and we had the Full Moon gift box of chicken and I made, my rhubarb crumble, except it was a bit cakey.  The flour is different, my excuse.  Some discussion of the Barcelona trip.  It's going to be interesting, 3 Wens, Po Po and Gong Gong and Olivia.

We watched the girl herself roam the room in her walker, avoiding the barricades her dad has erected.  I know, walkers are not recommended but then neither is potty training before around 15 months but that has been assiduously followed here for a while.  There is a theorythat babies can be potty trained by 12 months - I'll let you know!  It can be challenging being the m in l of a daughter in law!

There was no rain today and by evening the sky had actually cleared to a few clouds in blue sky and it was relatively cool, only 25 degrees.  We didn't go to the Selangor Highland Games.  The fear of rain was the reason given, but I think they just couldn't be beothered with all the faff of getting there.  OK by me.

I went to bed, leaving the 'kids' to the big car key hunt, causing much angst.
