Sick little Scaup.

I had a very clandestine meeting last night in the carpark of a large takeaway chain to pick up this Scaup ( a native duck) !!! She was admitted this morning and I spent this morning with the vet sorting her out. She  has a nasty bacterial infection.  Time will tell if she survives, but she is so sweet and gentle compared to some of our patients. We have 2 injured Harrier Hawks and a very feisty Pukeko.  It is heartening to know there are people out there who go out of their way to catch her and get her to  treatment.
