Growing Lapwing

Still alive and growing strong legs my Red-Wattled Lapwing chick is doing well, sadly it looks as though it no longer has a brother or sister. It now runs to stand under its Mums legs now, not crouch down and act as though it is a stone, this must be because of its size now and the fact it can run and shout! So pleased to be able to keep up with its transformation & growth, it is not quite so pretty now and when it gets its proper feathers it may look even more gawky, but I'm so glad it seems to be thriving. It always looks wet because it keeps cool by lounging in the pools dotted around the Wadi.
