Maple House

This is where I started work for Reuters in 1989.  At the time it was a slightly dodgy area where we would have to move the drug addicts off the roof every morning as they would huddle around the air con units.  Now its trendy Old Street with a Pret and an Oliver Bonas.

Looks like the old building is having a complete refurb, but honestly I'm slightly surprised they didn't just knock it down completely as there's no architectural value to the outside.  The floor which you just can't quite see into used to hold something like 200 VAX/VMS systems and was a copy of the live Reuters network for development.
