A poya lantern feeling a little sorry for itself

We have a long hot bus journey this morning to Anuradhapurna. We're the only westerners on the bus which seems to be the norm for all our bus journeys here. We check into our guest house which is nice and after chilling for a while head into town. It's a nice enough proper Sri Lankan town but not much to see. The heavens open so we have a cup of tea in a local cafe until the rain lessons then head back to the guest house.

We don't venture out again this evening but have a lovely rice and curry with fish at the guest house. We also didn't take any pictures except this one which is one of the lanterns that are everywhere because of the Poya festival. We have an early night as we plan to get bikes and go to the sacred city tomorrow.
