Our beach hut at Uppuveli beach

After breakfast we attempt to check out of the guest house and guy running it tries to charge us 1000 extra rupees for the air con! We are adamant we agreed the price with him and we both reconfirmed it with him yesterday to avoid any misunderstanding so he's definitely trying it on. We would have stayed across the road if the price he says is correct as they had an air con room for the same price. We only chose him beacuse his place had direct accrss to the beach. Luckily we have the correct change so give him what we agreed, grab our packs and go. We're not sure if he's going to come after us but he doesn't. Not a good start to the day ... cheeky bugger. That's the first time we've had that on our travels.

We take a tuk tuk to the Uppuveli beach area and start to look for somewhere to stay. Heading on to the beach to check out the beach front accommodation, we bump into Mitch and Zoe who we climbed Adam's Peak with. They have super cheap accommodation just off the beach but we find a beach hut for a reasonable price and settle in. The beds are not great but we'll see how we get on. The afternoon is spent on the beach which is prtty nice with fun waves.

In the evening a storm comes in and goes on for ages so we end up eating at the bar attached to our palce. Although it looks pretty cool its lacking in comfort and stmopshere so we don't stay long.
