Blue and Grey
This is the Maersk Rapier, an oil tanker which was sitting at the MOD facility at Ardyne when I went to Bute for a couple of meetings.
What caught my eye was the contrast between the bright blue hull and the lowering grey landscape and seascape. Yet only a few miles west the sun was shining over Colintraive and when I came back towards Rhubodach a few hours later the whole scene looked entirely different with the spring greens of the hillside beginning to assert themselves.
I looked up the ship later to discover it had come from Gibraltar and before that from Greece. The crew must have found the Kyles of Bute cold today .
