Lotta Floats

On Saturday Lotta went into the water. As usual the planks had dried out during the winter and you could see daylight through the cracks. It was no surprise that she sank directly but in this chosen spot the bottom is not too deep so the decks and gunwales remained just above the water.
Today I was back and pumped out the water. The planks had swelled since Saturday so most of the cracks have disappeared and as the water level in the boat sank the boat started to float. This is always something of a relief!
There’s still water leaking in but another couple of days and the leaks will be very slow. A battery driven pump will be able to deal with that rate of leakage.
On the other side of the inlet the new green of the buds and new leaves stands out against the darker evergreens.
On the way home I checked the swans and nest. Everything is looking ok, but there's no sign of cygnets yet.
I do live in a nice place!
