At last...

emerging dragonflies today! This is the female Four-spotted chaser, Libellula quadrimaculata. I watched her for over an hour and here you can see that her wings on the left are still not inflated. It takes over two hours from emergence to flight and they are so vulnerable at this time! But, isn't she beautiful?
There were also Large Red Damsonflies emerging at the same site, where there was hot sun interspersed with light showers.
