Life before Internet
When you're both working flat out, paperwork tends to get filed and forgotten. Now we're both relatively time-rich it's time to go through the filing cabinets and cases and start shredding. Believe me, this is the better part of my day; the other major event today involved a chicken, some vaseline and a surgical glove. You don't want that blipped, believe me.
But I was moved to note how life has changed since the Internet went public in the early nineties. Here are four TV licences 1992-1995, all fully signed and stamped (with stamps, which were then stamped!). Like vehicle excise duty tax discs, you'll not see these any more. It's all online now.
In other news, the bike is finally back in one piece and off on her test ride tonight before being valeted and handed over to me tomorrow afternoon. As fate would have it, the afternoon is forecast to be sunny. And let's face it, there's not going to be anything worth watching on the telly...
