Any guesses?
Well, to give you a hint we returned to the fish nets this morning, again via the snow scooter, and when we pulled them in we had caught 5 lovely plump trout. Back at the forest cottage my friend released them from the netting and proceeded to head and gut them and this is what he found inside. The large 'bags' contain this year's eggs but the two blobs that resemble eyes are in fact two of last year's eggs which had become tucked up inside the female trout and had remained there for a whole season. I found that totally astonishing and wonder if anyone else has seen this before.
Supper was a feast of fresh trout and salad.
