Audition for Paris Metro performers..

Twice a year, the Metro administration selects about 300 performers for the underground metro system, from the more than 2000 applicants.  A small selection auditions in front of the public in one of the metro stations.  These performers have often already produced a record, and the Paris Metro is a choice venue for many, since there is a guaranteed audience of thousands.
