The MK Rose

The MK Rose was commissioned by the Milton Keynes Cenotaph Trust and the Milton Keynes Parks Trust. The artist was Gordon Young. The design of MK Rose is a vast and impressive circle with markings based on the mathematical properties of a flower.

It is a place for the people of Milton Keynes to celebrate, commemorate and mark occasions important to them – a place where thousands can gather to mark Armistice Day or one person can remember another in a personal moment. It is not a sombre place, but a place of coming together and celebration.


I wandered around and remembered my brother Rob who would have had his birthday today.
