Gitama Blipmeet

An interesting start to the blipmeet with Gitama , who is down staying with Walking Wombat and CCN at Wombat Hollow in Blackheath. Isbi, Tisharooni , and I joined WW and Gitama for a view of Blackheath's most well known view of the Grose Valley from Govetts Leap lookout.

Unfortunately Gitama was so overwhelmed by our spectacular view that she knocked her $500 prescription sunglasses off her head and over the edge of the lookout.  Fortunately the drop from the lookout does not go the full 100-200m to the valley floor.  While WW, Gitama and I were searching among the ferns 10m below, an observer from above noticed the glint of the glasses lodged in grass/bracken on a ledge about 3 m above where we were searching.  Luckily at 3m stick was found and I managed to dislodge the glasses from their resting place, only to see them pitch into the very ferns in which we had previously been searchings.  After what seemed an eternity (reality = 10mins), I spotted the little suckers!

For prosperity, my extra today photo shows a re-staging of the lodging of the glasses in the ferns.

Regrettably I was not able to join the blipteam in the rest of the day due to the very late arrival of our replacement dishwasher.  However it looks like it was a fun day.
