Avon calling!
Walking again - that's three days in a row! This time it was a walk along the River Avon Heritage Trail, led by the Falkirk Council Rangers Service.
At around 10 miles it was a bit longer than the walks I'm used to, and some of the underfoot conditions were a bit slippy and squelchy due to the recent rain, but it was an excellent walk in warm sunshine throughout.
The two Rangers who led the walk gave us lots of information along the way: about the landscape, about some of the history, and about the wild plants by the path-side, but not in a way that it made it feel like a lecture tour. It was simply a good walk in excellent weather and good company.
However, I plan to have a couple of days off from walking now. I think I've earned it!
