iPhone Jubilee Beacon

It was actually quite lovely. And I don't have the camera to capture it at all. I have chosen this and may blip another tomorrow.
As we climbed up the the field where the Beacon was to be lit, we could see another fire on top of Dufton Pike (the left one of the two pointy hills in the distance). We thought we saw another on Murton Pike, but each time we looked it was much larger, then too big then so curved...!
We realised it was a glowing bloodgold full moon rising. It looked huge!
To capture that was just impossible though I tried. With the bonfire on our left and the beacon on Dufton Pike and the moon rising as the earth turned - it was quite special. Even brought-up-from-the-earth-farmers were moved by it.
We reached the bonfire itself where we are quite high and have views across to the Lakes - and we could see Beacons all around! Really impossible to capture, possibly with anything but an amazing panoramic camera?
Orton Scar, Langwathby, Askham, Sleagill, Dufton Pike, Wild Boar Fell possibly and Nine Standards. We even thought Cross Fell attempted one. We saw horizontal smoke!
Then fireworks (courtesy of the Jubilee Grant). They echoed all around the valley like gunfire. Quite spooky.
Dennis and Eleanor had put out bales to sit on and there were drinks and chat.
An absolutely worth it evening.
