My Life With Luna

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse

It's been raining all day today so we decided to take a leisurely drive to the west of Fort William.   We saw that Ardnamurchan Point is the most westerly point of the mainland Britain so we went to find it.   The roads were wonderful for a meander but as we got closer to the point the weather closed in and visibility was virtually zero.   I took some photographs of the lighthouse and the point but they are not clear so I have shown one of the former and original lens and light designed by Alan Stevenson and in use until 1988 when it was replaced by a modern halogen installation.   I think it looks like something from Dr Who!!

My extra is of a rather gorgeous horse that we saw during our excursion and this is taken just as he was about to see what my camera tasted like.
