The Sandwick Hall

Just back from an opening gig of the Orkney Folk Festival in the Sandwick Hall.  Haven’t attended any gigs for the last two festivals but we went to see the Music of the Garson Trio which consisted of five different bands playing music of the Garson Trio who were on the go in the 1940s/50s and 60s.  The first band on stage was Belt Hid Oot and included a few prize winners fae a competition sooth.  At the end there were 24 folk playing on a stage in a tiny hall.  It was a sell oot.  It was a ray of sunshine on a truly shitty day.  There can be no other description.  It rained the whole day and evening and on the way home it was only 3 degrees C.  Pity the poor farmers - quite a few now are running out of feed and have no grass to put the kye out on.

CMC has tasked me with booking a holiday October.
