Vandalism at Windmill Hill ? Someone setting fire to the beacon ?
No it is the aftermath of the lighting of the Windmill Hill Beacon in tribute to Elizabeth Regina II.
Damn , i missed it :(

Cllr Lyn Milner lit the beacon at 10.15pm.

The flame came from candle which had been lit from the sun's rays - echoing the lighting of the Olympic flame in Greece - and the candle has been kept alight all afternoon so that the mayor could light a taper from it tonight and then that was use to set the fire in the beacon's basket.

ermmm wonder where they got the sun from ? As it certainly wasn't from Gravesham .Perhaps it was shipped in especially from Essex ;)
