Farmyard Mural
This is a mural at a local holiday resort. It is in their farmyard and I just thought it was beautiful. Actually a work of art! The wall is about 10m long, so it must have taken a long time to complete.
We went to an unveiling at the cemetry this morning for an uncle who passed away last year. Just as we were leaving an elderly couple lost control of their car and ended up driving over a couple of graves and finally came to a halt against a boulder. It was such a surreal moment. Firstly to hear a car speeding in this very quiet place and then to see it actually heading towards us. We would have been it's next stop if the boulder was not there. They actually side-swiped my father-in-law's car first as he was waiting for them to pass, hit a second vehicle, went through a fence before stopping.
Luckily they were not badly hurt. Mr G, my sister-in-law and I were able to get to them quickly and keep them calm. We have a Jewish paramedic service in Johannesburg called Hatzolah, all volunteers, who arrived within minutes and took them by ambulance to the hospital. The lady had dislocated her shoulder but no other serious injuries. As I said it was just such a surreal experience to happen at a cemetry.
