Ironbridge, Shropshire

This is a statue next to the Iron Bridge in the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire.  The bridge was the first bridge ever built out of iron and the industry that began all along the gorge started off the Industrial Revolution in the UK.

The inscription under this statue reads:

    " In grateful
and undying memory
 of the valiant men
   of Iron Bridge
 who laid down
   their lives
in the Great War
  1914  1918

We thank our God upon
every Remembrance of you"

I have put a shot of the Iron Bridge which crosses the gorge in "Extra photos"

I am still catching up with blipping and will catch up with commenting when I can!
