Sweet Baby Cole

Changes

Cole and I walked down to my sister's house tonight for a visit before bedtime. The air is cool tonight, probably one of the last few cool nights before the summer humidity sets in. Clair and my dad were sitting out back enjoying the evening together. I feel so fortunate that I can walk down the street and spend time with family, to talk about our day and what we'll be doing over the weekend.

Cole is changing in so many ways. He is talking his baby talk constantly throughout the day, discovering  new sounds that he can make all by himself with just his mouth. He's so pleased by this! When he's not happy with the way something is going, his high-pitched happy squeals turn into complaints - sometimes they are of the variety that you can alter by giving him a new toy or singing a song and other times, they can't be satisfied until he is picked up or fed or taken to a new environment (outside often works like a charm.-he loves being outside!) He is moving closer and closer to crawling, getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. After rocking, he'll get tired and just fall flat on his belly and raise his arms and legs like Superman, or locust pose, often with a big grin on his face. Then he'll roll to the right or left depending on which direction he wants to go to get to his destination. We haven't "baby proofed" yet, but the time is drawing very near.

Jason and I never tire of Cole's antics. Every day, as he repeats these sounds and moves all over again, it's like we're seeing them for the first time.
