The view today
After a 12 hour day in the car again, we finally stopped for the night at Salida, Colorado. We spent most the day on a 2 lane back road in New Mexico and Colorado that was very country as in not much to see but rocks and cows but still worth the ride just getting off the interstate. Some big mountains still capped with snow were wonderful to see, the Sangria de Christos I think is this mountain range.
This is the view from our motel balcony. Tomorrow we will see mountains over 14,000 feet high...hopefully the clouds will lift so that we can see them as we travel another half day to our final destination!
I found out for sure that I am not a city person..we went to Santa Fe and I could not wait to leave. Too close and too commercialized! Maybe Friday of a holiday weekend was not a good time to visit but I would really rather have the wide open spaces!
