Solace Adventure Day 6
Tied Up.
Our return journey to the marina took us back through the Harecastle tunnel. 45 minutes of waiting for the northbound boats to come out, then a 45 minute drive in the dark. We were the first going south so there was always light at the end of the tunnel.
By their very nature, canals have industry and cities around them and railways sharing the valley floor. Today we traveled through Stoke on Trent, the heart of "The Potteries"
We moored for the night just out of Stoke and before Trentham, right next to the railway. We knew from previous moorings that we could sleep through the hum of the trains.
So here we are, in better weather, tied up for the night and sitting out on deck with drinks
