Tredegar House Aerial View
After a call out ended in Newport, I fancied doing an aerial view and being late afternoon, and likely quiet, I made my way to Tredegar Park Country House, Newport.
I have done an aerial of Tredegar House back last October but today's view is from a different angle, and includes the Stable block, stone circle and part of the lake.
Tredegar House is a 17th-century country house mansion at the western edge of the city of Newport, Wales, that for over five hundred years was home to the Morgan family, later Lords Tredegar; one of the most powerful and influential families in the area. Described as "The grandest and most exuberant country house" in Monmouthshire and one of the "outstanding houses of the period in the whole of Britain", the mansion stands in a reduced landscaped garden of 90 acres. The property became a Grade 1 listed building in March 1952 and has been under the care of the National Trust since March 2012.
In the grounds is a modern stone circle, built when Tredegar hosted the national Eisteddfodd in 1988.
The house has an amazing history, visited by many royalty and famous people, hosted many films and tv shows and events, and also in the grounds in a very large caravan club site, childrens park and yet another lake.
