Aquilegia
This has seemed a very flat day both geographically and mentally as my mood is still very much in the lovely Highlands, but I must get back to reality.
The garden seems to have had an explosion of flowers and greenery in the last eight days, the grass will need two cuts to bring it back to a more manageable level and the trees and flowers are excelling themselves too.
The Aquilegias or Grandmother's Bonnets have self seeded all over the patio coming up in between the paving and stone chippings and I have to say they look absolutely gorgeous in all colours from off white to a dark indigo. This is the stamen from a baby pink one, I like the contrast of the little seed heads.
