Sandy Lane

I hate weekend motorways.

On the daily commute I can tolerate them, but today was most definitely a Caravan/Bank Holiday traffic today.

Left Bristol at about 8.45 am, and the M5 south was already a car park (which whilst we were going North should not have been a problem, but it obviously backed up onto the M4).

Once on the M5 it was okay.

Then we had a toilet stop, change of drivers on the M1 and the chaos began.

Traffic jams, variable speed limits and the ETA on the satnav starting going up and up.

It went from before 1pm to after 2 pm.

Then we fought to get into the services (what a queue), and queued up for the toilets (another long queue); only for JJ to change his mind, and tell me he didn't need a wee! Grrrr.

Picked up some fish and chips on the way to my parents; ;so had lunch around 2.30am.

Then I may have crashed on the bed for an hour or so.

Tomorrow morning we need to head off early to head back south to Crewe for a wedding.

So the boys are under the scrutiny and watchful eye of Grandma.

Took the boys for a quick stroll after their tea; but JJ was too tired and wanted to go bed.

C and me persevered and walked down Sandy Lane. Used to be a public road that goes through Billingham golf course, but it now has bollards on either end.

C was quite exciting when we saw a Colony of rabbits (although I think I prefer a Trip of rabbits for a group).

Unfortunately he was not too happy when a lovely border collie came to close to him.

Only 8 weeks to go until we are in Thailand, with my brothers Rhodesian Ridgebacks; so he better man up soon.
